Medical Activities

I am trained both in Anesthesiology and Critical Care Medicine. Over the past 15 years, after completing my training, I spent 5 years working in Anesthesiology (mainly in neurosurgery, general surgery, ENT, and orthopedic surgery). I did a 2-year fellowship in Surgical and Trauma Critical Care (Lariboisière Hospital, Paris, France). Eventually, I spent 3 years working first as Assistant, then as Associate Professor in Surgical and Trauma Critical Care (European Hospital Georges Pompidou, Paris, France).

In September 2016, I become Professor of Anesthesia and Critical Care Medicine, acting as vice chair for the Surgical and Trauma, and the Cardiovascular Critical Care Units at European Hospital Georges Pompidou, before becoming the Chairman for the whole Department of Anesthesia and Critical Care Medicine.

In September 2018, I became Vice Chair for the Department of Anesthesia and Perioperative Medicine at UCSF, and Chief of Anesthesia at ZSFG, the only Level-I Trauma Center for San Francisco city and County.

My primary clinical interests are :

1/  Multiple Trauma

2/  Shocks, hemodynamic optimization and ECMO

3/  Sepsis
